Sue Patten, PMP, is an award winning, internationally published author. Her more than 25 years of writing and research experience has earned her a reputation for producing accurate, on deadline copy on a wide variety of topics.

 

Based in New England, she is best known for her numerous articles, published in both the online and print media. Her extensive list of topics include the IT industry, Internet security, Internet standards, technology industry trends and research, IT training trends and practices, software development, team development, creativity, outsourcing, business best practices, employee retention, foreign economies, foreign technological advances, women's issues, family issues, health, and the martial arts.

Patten's Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and experience in project management defines how projects are delivered within scope, time, and budget.

Working as Lead Instructional Designer, Patten designs and develops training in all modalities. Her  clients include corporations, healthcare facilities, and state and Federal entities. Her developed training content includes insurance claims, legal matters, Internet use, software use, customer service, and various disaster training, which includes radiological disasters, pediatrics in a disaster, geriatrics in a disaster, healthcare executive training, evacuation, mobile hospitals, respirator fit testing, and designing drills and exercises, among others. Patten intertwines narration, video, and user interactions into the content to enhance learner understanding and retention.

Working on an Internet based software development team, Patten has attained various Internet related skills. In addition to Microsoft desktop software, she has gained extensive experience with HTML, JavaScript, ASP, Help Authoring, Quark, PhotoShop, Front Page, Homesite, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Visual InterDev, Visio Pro, and more. This experience is backed up with a through knowledge of Internet standards and usability issues.

Patten has produced and managed in corporate communications. Projects include case studies, process and development documentation, best practices procedures, surveys, newsletters, voice over scripts (and perform), speeches, brochure copy, and instruction materials.

Patten's artistic experience gives her a unique insight into the needs of professional artists to display and sell their art.

In addition, Patten has won awards that include one for No Heart Home, which is a glaringly realistic account of a park in a not so big city. She has also written reports about domestic violence laws and the dangers of America's DPT vaccine.

Patten has established Webs and Waves to provide technical and business communication solutions to both local and long distance organizations.
